WHOSE HOUSE IS THIS, ANYWAY?

Today I took Eddie for his walk. It's all part of the routine. I trick him into getting into his harness, which he hates. Put on my walking shoes.(that's when he knows it's time to hide) Hunt him down to attach the leash. Put on my sunglasses...I think that's where I got thrown off, since it was a drizzly day & didn't need them.  I just forgot one little part...the house key.  Yup, I locked myself out.  I can't remember the last time I did that.  I usually the one that checks everything two or three times, but today I didn't realize it until we were done walking and went up to the front door.  Oops!  As I was seeing if the back door was unlocked, Eddie must have got bored with my antics and trotted right in the house through his doggie door! After trying a couple of windows, I actually got so far as sticking my head through the doggie door. Nope, not gonna make it. I won't explain how, but i finally got inside.  I took this pic as a reenactment.

STREAM OF RAMDOM THOUGHTS

Okay, I had some thoughts, but they disappeared by the time I set up the beautiful colors for this blog. We'll see what I can come up with. I LOVE color!!! Mostly bright colors, because they make me happy and give me energy. I don't neglect soft, light colors. They make me feel calm and clean & tidy. Sometimes I'm a clean and tidy person, but mostly I'm a creative slob. I usually know which pile I can find what I need, though. Sometimes I try to clean up my piles, but then I find something in the pile that sidetracks me. I like to think of it as being spontaneous and creative. I guess some people might consider this ADD, which is just another name for creative imagination. I really want to not hurt all over from the stupid Fibromyalsia and also have more time in the day because there are so many things I want to get done. Once, when we had a bigger house, the Christmas tree stayed up until June or July when some event was happening so I was forced to finally put it away. Maybe we should all keep our Christmas trees up longer, then we would remember the feeling of Christmas longer! Christmas itself seems to be too stressful to me. Why is it so close to Thanksgiving and New Year's ? Let's have Christmas at least 2xs a year. I used to listen to Christmas music starting in June...now I'm so unorganized I can't find my Christmas music. Maybe I should get off the computer and do something about that.

BEAUTIFUL SUNDAY

Today was such a beeeautiful day!  We've been having such bipolar weather for the last couple of weeks, we thought we better take advantage of the mild, sunny day.  We had temps in the 100's then rain, thunder & lightening for a whole day, then cold.  This is San Diego!  We don't get weather changes like that!!  Especially all in one week!  I actually had to put on sock and long sleeves!!

First we visited relatives we haven't seen in awhile...or never, but, hey we found them!

 

Since we were close to downtown, we were practically FORCED to go to Coronado and enjoy the scenery.  Yeah, it's tough, but someone has to live here and take pics to flaunt on a blog.

Then we barbequed delicious steaks and watched a dvd about London & Scotland.  I broke down & gave Eddie some scraps, which he later threw up on the carpet.  Ahhhhh, it was a good day!

CONFERENCE WEEKEND

Last weekend I was able to watch & listen to a living prophet, apostles, and other church leaders during the General Conference for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  It's a wonderful weekend full of the Spirit.  It used to be broadcast on a tv station that we could watch, but now we can only watch it live from Salt Lake City via satalite at the church or streaming on the computer. We opt for the computer since it's more convenient to watch in our pj's at our house.

Eddie liked to watch us watch conference.  Actually, I think he just wanted to play with us since we seemed to be a captive audience.  Between sessions of conference, our wonderful friends and neighbors, the Price family, brought us some homemade cinnamon rolls!!!

I made this picture large because these were the MOST DELICIOUS THINGS IN THE WORLD!!!!!  Thank you, Amber, Josh, Nathan, Jack & Dallen!!!  Eddie loved them, too.  8P

THE WAY I SEE IT IS THIS...IF PEOPLE VIEW MY BLOG I EXPECT SOME COMMENTS. IT'S KIND OF LIKE STEALING IF YOU JUST LOOK AT A BLOG WITHOUT COMMENTING. "I BET YOU LOOK AT BLOGS WITHOUT COMMENTING, VERNA.", YOU SAY. WELL, YES...YES I DO. I USUALLY CHECK TO MAKE SURE THERE ARE SOME COMMENTS, THOUGH, SO I KNOW THE PERSON GETS SOME KUDOS FOR THEIR WORK. SO FAR, THE ONLY COMMENT I'VE RECEIVED IS, "POOP". REALLY? LET'S BE A TAD MORE CREATIVE, SHALL WE? HMMMM?

The Neverending Trip

I'll try to make this...NO, I will make this the final posting of The Neverending Trip!!!!  I think I've forgotten what exactly happened, so I may make some stuff up. I'm sure you'll never be able to tell what is real & what I made up.

We started off with smiles, but they didn't last long. Driving 10 hrs in one day isn't really fun. I know, that info took you by suprise, but it's true! Since I'm not much of a morning person, I really don't remember having this pic taken. Yet, here it is as proof that I was up & dressed before 9am.

On the bright side, it was a beautiful day! These sunflowers were about Payson or Santaquin...about 30 minutes into the drive. If the whole drive was like this, maybe it wouldn't be too bad. But the rest of the drive was like this...

Okay, even these views don't look that bad. But after hours & hours & hours of this I pulled out my camera to kill some time. My pics of the giant castle with the beautiful princess with the really long locks of hair flowing from the window didn't turn out. Nor the ones of the purple hippopotamus selling beef jerky by the side of the road.

This is where you can tell the boredom starts settling in.

Look, I can make a little French mustache. Quite the talent, eh? Obviously, I took many more than these shots you are enjoying now. These were just the best ones. You can thank me later for not sharing the one of a close up of Dan's ear.

We listened to a book on CD the whole way since our tastes in music differ. He's a little bit country. I'm a little bit rock & roll.  So Hamish MacBeth was our companion. If you haven't read any of MC Beaton's Scottish mystery books, then you have no idea who Hamish is. He can be quite entertaining whilst in the middle of the desert. I don't think he's ever been to the desert. But then again, I guess he has since we took him. Okay, babbling now.

It's always good to be home, even though it involves unpacking a whole bunch of stuff and laundry for the whole next week. Eddie, our dog, was so excited to see us that he almost ate my face off. That would be funny to see me with no face! I was also glad to have made it back to sea level without major sinus & ear problems!

YEA!!!! I'm all done blogging about our amazing trip to Utah. I now realize I have a lot of things to learn about uploading pics and getting them placed in the right place on the blog page!
